One wish...

If I could have a wish right now.. I would wish for a clone of myself to get things gone. There are not enough hours in the day to complete what I have to get done. Between cleaning the house, laundry ( which is piled a mile high), cooking dinner ,the list just goes on and on. My goal was to get all the xmas shopping done before school lets out for break. But do you think that has happened?? Nope.. so I am going to have to try and sneak away and get it finished. Lauren has changed her mind so many times that we finally told her Santa's workshop doesn't like late orders. I am looking forward to the week after xmas when we can just hang out. Then hopefully my list wont be so long.

Not telling you

Lauren has had a TON of questions about Santa. She is even not telling us what she wants because she says Santa knows. But we have been able to get a few things out of her. First she told me she would like a baby sister , umm,NO . But I told her that God controlled that Santa doesn't. She just looked at me. Then she said well I want an IPad. Ken said, No honey, Santa doesn't have the license from Apple to give those out. Again she rolls her eyes and walks away. Finally the other night she tells our sitter that she REALLY REALLY wants a cell phone. But she really doesn't think Santa will dis-obey Mommy and get one for me. Smart girl. Let's hope want Santa brings her is just what she wants.

He's back....

Fiddle our Elf has returned. The kids were so excited to see him. I was as well because I find myself saying alot, "behave or Fiddle is going to tell Santa. He was right at the bottom of the stairs waiting for the kids to wake up. Lauren walked right by him this morning. Walker is the one that discovered him. He was so impressed with himself.

BUT... Lauren left this note last night. It's hard to see so I will tell you.

Dear Fiddle-

How are you ? I got a 100 on my test. Can you answer me one question ? Are you fake??

YES-
NO-

Lauren

AGH-- I knew these questions were coming soon. She has been asking a ton of questions the last few weeks. It makes me so sad that we are at this point. I know that she will find out soon but I want one more Christmas. Tonight she said Mom my friend at school says Easter Bunny and Tooth fairy aren't real. But that Santa is real, I said does that make sense. She thought a min and said no not really. So I think we still have some time. I'm so not ready for my kids to grow up.

Giggles...

Tonight while Lauren was reading her ' guided reading' ( it's her reading homework for those if you that don't know), to me. She has to sound out words from time to time one of those words was "Com-for-table' she said it just like that.Which is right but she starting giggling once she realized what the word was. Then we both started to laughing and the rest of the night we would ask each other , are you com-for-table ?? It may not be funny to you all but it was nice to have such a laugh with Lauren.

My coach can walk 60 miles.. can yours??

Lauren's cheer coach walked the Susan Komen 3 day walk for the 3rd year in a row. Our squad went out to cheer her on. It is such an amazing experience to see everyone walk. The ones that were truly inspirational were the women/men that were currently under going treatment. It was hard to hold back the tears as they would walk by with such a determination on their faces.

Shannon was so surprised when she saw the girls, that it brought her to tears. The girls were so happy to see her and cheer her on. Everyone that walked by loved seeing the girls in all of there pink. They would even stop to take pictures . The girls were convinced that they were going to be in a magazine. They even said they had there own paparazzi. They were cracking me up.

It was such a neat experience.

Then I found out today that hes leaving to move away. He usually gives me a free coffee a few times a week. Its a sad day around here. haha

Halloween

Halloween this year just didn't have the same feel as years past. It has to do with everything going on in our lives. But the kids had a fabulous time and that is all that matter. Halloween weekend we went with some dear friends to Stonebriar country club's big Halloween bash. It was totally geared to kids. They had a blast. Lauren was our dead cheerleader and her buddy Grace was a dead 80's girl. They were such the pair.

Walker was our " Zombie" or as he liked to call himself ' the black tar monster" from Scooby. He has even slept in his costume.
Lauren had so much fun dressing up. Lauren figured out the next time Halloween is on a Saturday she will be 16. WOW!! So not ready for that. Makes me sad thinking about it.
Our first house to trick or treat was Mrs Harris's house. Walker was so excited to "scare " her. He also loved seeing Laney and gave her kisses.

All in all it was a great night.

Sleep.. what's that ..

I have so many other posts that need to happen BUT I have had some major issues with sleep the last few weeks. UGH !!! It is so bad. We have had a ton going on in our lives (yet another post). I can fall asleep but then wake up around 2-3. It is AWFUL.. Oh believe me that I have popped some sleeping aids but my brain is not shutting off. So for those of you that see on on a daily basis and I look like a zombie. Now you know. Here's hoping for a good nights sleep.

Walker's 6th birthday

My sweet boy turned 6. It makes me sad to think about it. This year I did not win the Mommy of the year for his bday. He didnt have a bday party but except for what we did at home. Ken was out of town because of his Mom's passing and I just didn't feel like it was time for a huge celebration. The kids and I had a great time at home just the 3 of us. Even though it wasn't the same without Ken here.

He did love that I took him to Toys-r- us on his special day and told him pick what you want. That was a first and he loved getting to pick his own gifts. Next year we will have a fabulous party. He could care less that we didn't have a party. I have Mother's guilt for not having one for him.

I love that boy so much

Promise to myself.....

These last few weeks I have had so much going on. I feel like I have been living up at Bledsoe. We are getting geared up for our yearly fundraiser. It is a great thing for the kids school and they actually love it so much. Its has been constant around here. I am so tired at night that I feel like all I do it rush to get the kids to bed. On Friday at Bible Study I was reminded that we all need to slow down and take a few minutes not only for yourself but also to spend some time with your kids. All weekend I have been trying to remind myself that the kids are my first priority. I love them and want them to know that I am here and not one of those Mom's that is rushing/ screaming ALL THE TIME. They are only small once..

My promise to myself is to take a breath and spend quality time with my babies. If something doesn't get done NO ONE is going to die. I need to better prioritize my life..

Sweet Boy..

In the car today Walker asks me.. Mommy, do you love me ? I said of course I love you so much. He says Mommy I love you all the time and in every way. He melted my heart.. I hope he feels that way when he's 13. Love that boy..

Crazy Rain..

For those of you that don't live near Lone Star Ranch this may not look familiar. But this is what Fourth Army Rd looks like under water. I mean it was crazy to see how fast the water was going over the road. Thankfully they block this part of the road, when we have any significant rain . You may be asking yourself why we have so many of these pics. If my husband could he would be a storm chaser. He loves rain/ tornadoes/ snow.. You name it he wants to be out in it.

Baby Got Back..

So if you were a teen in the 90's you know this song and probably every word of it. It's one of those songs that when you hear it today you still know the words. So to my surprise Lauren comes home from school the other day. She say's " Mommy, I heard a new song today.. and she precedes to start singing.. " I like big butts and I cannot lie..". You know the rest I am sure. Thankfully she didn't know much more than that because now I know how totally inappropriate it is for a 9 yr old. Anyway I busted out laughing just at the shear fact that she thought it was new. Oh to be an innocent 9yr old. ( of course about a year ago she thought Ice Ice Baby was new). haha.. I am sure you are asking yourself how in the world did she hear this song at school. I asked that question and she said" Mom on the playground". I said" someone had their i-pod out there ( oh I think not)":. She looks at me like I was a complete moron and says, "No Mom this guys was singing it to me and my friends." Ok so even worse in my eyes but that is a whole other thing. Anyway, old is new again. Gotta love it..

Filter...

So my Facebook staus today said ..

You know that thing you have in your head that tells you not to say something WELL TODAY I DON'T HAVE ONE..

Apparently I dont have much of a filter. ( which I already knew) but it was rather funny to me to see some of the responses. Here are a few of them:

It's called a filter/ grid:) mine misfires daily and requires tech support! Good luck with yours.

As opposed to other days when you do?????

You say that like it's different from any other day...

Do i need to bail you out of jail?

I've got the Amex at the ready. I can bail you out from here. OR...even better, I can fly to Texas and kick some ass with you! I could go for that.

They made me laugh. I am not the type of person that keeps her mouth shut under pretty much any situation. I guess all of my friends know that is the case as well..

Lemonade/Koolaide Stand

Lauren, Haley Ruff and Lucy Munoz decided to do a lemonade stand. But it actually turned in to a koolaide/fruit snack stand. Mind you the fruit snacks came from the house and Lauren says she really doesn't need to pay us for the fruit snacks. Since she lives in the house and we should all share. HAHA !! They charged $.50 a glass and $.25 for fruit snacks. They somehow managed to make $17. I think most people that drove by and stopped wouldn't take change.
They were outside for 2 hours and only came in the house once. They had a fabulous time and want to do it again next weekend.

First Day of school...

Here is sit in my totally quiet house. Only thing I can hear is my dogs snoring. People will say to me that Walker was in school last year but this just seems so different. Seems so permanent, which it is just not ready for him or her for that matter to grow up. They had a great first morning. Lauren was excited that her brother is going to be at her school. She kept talking to him about what he should and should not do. She told him last night then when he goes to the bath room to PLEASE make sure he pulls his pants up before he comes out. HAHA ! I think that is so she wont get embarrassed. Even though at home he pulls his pants up she just needed to make clear that he knew.
Walker says he already is in love with Mrs Harris. He came down twice last night asking what her name was again. He keeps calling her Mrs DeVarris ( his pre-k teacher was Mrs Devore who he adored.)He will figure it out sooner then later I am sure. We are so blessed to have her as his teacher.
Lauren has Mrs Culp. I have heard nothing but fabulous things about her. She has a few kids from her class last year in with her. Also has her good friend Marin. Which she was super excited about. I cant believe that we have a 3rd grader. Where has the time gone ??
At this point Walker so over us taking pictures. He was ready to get in the building and get started.

Yes I know that Lauren's backpack is almost as big as she is but she had to have this messenger bag from Justice. She went only with her Daddy to pick it out. She was so happy with what she found.

I love this pic of Walker. It shows all of the excitement on his face. He's so ready. Lets see how he is come the end of the week and he's exhausted.
This is going to be a great year for both of the kids. We love them so much and so happy for them both.

Mixed Emotions..

I have to admit that I am so sad to see my sweet baby boy go to kindergarten tomorrow morning. He is ready and so excited.. its hard not to be excited for him. He told me at Meet the Teacher that I can go ahead and leave him. He even told his sister that she "needed to get out of his space". Ha.. it was extremely hard for her to stand back and not be the center of attention. I know that he will be awesome but hes the one that I worry about sometimes.

We totally forgot the camera on Friday so tomorrow we have to get lots of pics..

PTA Mom's gone wild..

I was one of the lucky ones (ha)that got to got to go to Austin for the PTA state convention. The day before we left our beloved PTA president was unable to attend due to an illness in her family. So in the words of Shelley Harralla we were TOTALLY "unsupervised". Which needless to say didn't say much.. we were all pretty low key. It was alot of fun getting to know some of the other gals on the board with me. We had lots of laughs and I guess you could say we learned a little.

My sweet friend Mel Crosby who was there with Allen Elementary. We miss her so at Bledsoe. Sweet sweet lady.. LOVE her
After the day of training was over we made our way over to see Carrie Ruff's Dad play in his Hobo band. They were AWESOME.. I got the biggest kick out of her Dad on the microphone. He loved the spotlight. Every time he would start to talk Carrie and her sisters would all roll their eyes. Too funny !!!

All in all it was a fabulous weekend. I left having made closer friendships to some great ladies.

HELL

Need I say more.......

Cheer Camp

This is Lauren's 2nd year to cheer for the Dolphins FFL squad. She LOVES every minute of it. Loves all the girls and LOVES her coaches. We are so happy that she has finally found something that she truly likes. She played soccer and that was not her thing. Bless her heart she played for 4 seasons and only scored one goal. So between soccer and dance she has found her calling.

Lauren with her BFF Emma. They are 2 crazy girls.
All of the girls before the went in for cheer camp. It's going to be a great season. GO DOLPHINS !!!

Could it be....

Could it be that they aren't fighting ?? I feel like all summer long all I have said to my kids is "stop fighting ". Well, we went to the library the other day to try and fill up our afternoon. As we were leaving I realized that we had not had ONE fight. NOT ONE.. so I got some pics of the kids to remember this momentous occasion.

Only 30 something days left of summer. I can do it.. YES I CAN...
