Not another blood test ....

As many of you know Lauren has Hashimoto's Disease. She has no thryroid and will have to be on synthroid for life more than likely. In the beginning she had to have a blood test every 4 weeks. Now its just every 6 months. She has truly been a trooper when she has to get these tests done. Even though she knows that we end up at Target or Learning Express for a sympathy gift. After this last visit she was extremely excited to find out that she finally weighs over 50 lbs. I have tried to explain to her that being petite is NOT a bad thing at all. But I am just her Mom and what do I know.

Young Love

Walker loves the ladies. But he REALLY loves Ava Baja ( our neighbors little girl). I think the feeling is mutual. They are constantly asking for each other. After school one day, Walker says Mommy I need to see, " My Ava, I said she's at school. Mom, I NEED TO SEE HER RIGHT NOW. Walker she's at school with her other friends. Mom she's my girl and doesn't need other friends. ''

They are just like an old married couple. They love each other then are yelling at each other. What cracks me up is Ava will change her clothes completely for Walker. It has to be in one of her many Princess dresses. The pic below sort of tells the story. At one point she was on her elbows looking over at Walker in the chair saying , " Walker look at me I'm a Princess don't I look pretty." She repeats it about 3 times. Then he says, ''Ava, I'm watching TV. " See just like an old married couple.

This past weekend we were over at the Baja's for dinner. As we were leaving Walker grabs Ava's face and plants a BIG wet kiss right on the lips. Julie and I were so bummed that we didn't have a camera. But if we just wait long enough it will happen again.

Charlie

Charlie has been with me since before I even met Ken. He is the best dog EVER. Lauren and Walker refer to him as their " Brother the Dog". Anyway, he has gone totally blind and just about completely deaf. It's been an adjustment on all of us. On Friday I heard this horrible scream coming from the front of the house. Lauren was hysterically screaming. Charlie fell down about 8 steps and she FREAKED out. He was fine but it was our first time that we realized how hard is going to be when he's gone. She even told me, ''Mom, I would trade Daisy if he could stay for ever." He is still in fairly good health but our time with him is getting shorter and shorter. Daisy is a good dog. But she will never be Charlie. The BEST-EST GOOD DOG.
